With a fast-paced, compact delivery Hunter Ruth comes right at hitters with an aggressive approach. He generates very good torque and has an extremely quick arm, leading to easy low 90s velocity. There looks to be even more in the tank, as he is under control throughout and is a good athlete.

Hunter mainly attacks hitters with that lively, firm fastball and a tight slider that has late break and low 80s velocity. He also mixes in a developing change that is a change-of-pace to left-handed hitters. He shows feel for this pitch, giving him the necessary mix to project as a starter in the future.

Everything is in-sync with Hunter, and he repeats it all well. There is a quiet confidence about him on the mound that is more mature than his years and continues to help him against top competition. He seems to like the challenge and should have a bright future.
